Thanksgiving Cards and Messages

Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, 2026. It is a good time to write the thank you notes you meant to send all year. Pick a few people who made a difference to you, and tell each one what they did and why it mattered. Our thank you sets work well for this, and a card mailed the week before Thanksgiving should arrive in time for the holiday. You will find more than 70 Thanksgiving messages further down this page.

Every set has 12 cards and 12 envelopes, blank inside.

Thanksgiving Card Messages

Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, 2026. Below are more than 70 Thanksgiving messages you can write in a card, sorted by who you are writing to. Pick one that fits, then add a line about something that person did for you this year.

How to Write a Thanksgiving Card

  1. Start with their name. "Dear Aunt Linda," or "Hi Sam," is enough.
  2. Name one thing you are thankful for. Something they did this year, or something about them.
  3. Add a wish for the holiday. A good meal, a restful weekend, or time with family.
  4. Sign your name. If you are a guest, you can bring the card to dinner instead of mailing it.

Example: "Dear Linda, thank you for driving me to all of those appointments this spring. I don't know how I would have managed without you. I hope you have a warm and happy Thanksgiving. Love, Sam"

Questions

Asked most often.

When should I mail Thanksgiving cards?

Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday in November. Mail cards about a week ahead so they arrive before the holiday.

Who should get a Thanksgiving card?

Anyone you are grateful for: family you will not see this year, a mentor, a neighbor who helped, a teacher, or a friend who showed up when you needed them.

Can I use thank you cards instead of Thanksgiving cards?

Yes. A thank you card with a note about the season says the same thing, and any cards left in the box are ready for the rest of the year.

Do the cards come blank inside?

Yes. Every Twigs Paper card is blank inside and comes with an envelope.
