How to Use a Bible Verse in a Thanksgiving Card

  1. Choose one verse. A short verse fits best on a card. Save longer passages for a letter.
  2. Write the verse first. Put it at the top of the card in quotation marks.
  3. Add the reference. Write the book, chapter and verse under it, such as Psalm 100:4. Add "NIV" if you want to name the translation.
  4. Add a personal line. Tell them why you are thankful for them this year.
  5. Close and sign. See the closings at the end of this page.

Example: "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." (Psalm 107:1) Dear Aunt Ruth, we are so thankful you made the trip this fall. It was good to have everyone together. Happy Thanksgiving! Love, Mark and Jen
