Teacher Thank You Cards

Teachers often keep the notes families send them for years. Mention one specific thing the teacher did for your child, and if your child can write, let them add a line or a drawing of their own. Teacher Appreciation Week is the first full week of May, but a note at the end of the school year or at the holidays is just as welcome.

Every set has 12 cards and 12 envelopes, blank inside.

Avoid

  • A generic “thanks for a great year” with nothing else.
  • Comparing this teacher to a previous one.
  • Mixing a complaint or a request in with the thanks.

Questions

Asked most often.

When should I send a teacher thank you card?

Teacher Appreciation Week in early May and the last week of school are the most common times. A note in the middle of the year, after a good conference or a hard stretch, is also a nice surprise.

Should my child write the card?

If they can, yes. A few sentences in a child's handwriting mean a lot to most teachers. Younger children can draw a picture and sign their name.

Who else should get a card?

Aides, specialists, coaches, bus drivers and front office staff do a lot of work that goes unthanked. A boxed set makes it easy to include them.

Is a card enough without a gift?

Yes. A sincere note is often the part of the gift a teacher keeps.

Do the cards come blank inside?

Yes. Every Twigs Paper card is blank inside and comes with an envelope.
