Pastor Appreciation Cards

Pastor Appreciation Month

Pastor Appreciation Cards

October is Pastor Appreciation Month, and Pastor Appreciation Day falls on Sunday, October 11, 2026. A handwritten card is a simple way to thank your pastor for the teaching, visits and prayers that carry your church through the year. Our two Christian cross sets work well for it. One shows a simple cross filled with small blue flowers, and the other adds Thank You in script. Both are blank inside, so there is room for your own words and a favorite verse.

Each set comes with an envelope for every card, and every card is blank inside.

Ideas for the inside.

Name one thing your pastor did that helped you or your family, then add a verse or a short prayer. Three or four lines is plenty.

More faith-based messages

Example

Dear Pastor Mark,

Thank you for visiting Dad in the hospital last spring. It meant more than we can say.

"I thank my God every time I remember you." (Philippians 1:3)

With love, the Harris family

A greeting, one specific thank you, one verse, and your names.

Pastor Appreciation Quotes and Sayings

A short quote or saying under your own note works well, especially on a card from a group. Add one line of your own about what your pastor has done for you.

  • "Men are God's method. The church is looking for better methods; God is looking for better men." (E. M. Bounds, Power Through Prayer)
  • "Preaching is the communication of truth by man to men." (Phillips Brooks, Lectures on Preaching)
  • "Well done, good and faithful servant!" (Matthew 25:21)
  • A shepherd's heart and a servant's hands. Thank you, Pastor.
  • Faithful in the pulpit and faithful in the hallway.
  • You point us to Jesus every Sunday.
  • Thank you for the sermons, and for the prayers we never heard.
  • Grateful for a pastor whose life matches the message.
  • Called by God and loved by your church.
  • Every seed you plant matters. Thank you for sowing faithfully.
  • Thank you for carrying our church in prayer.

How to Sign a Pastor Appreciation Card

"With gratitude," "In Christ," "Blessings," and "Praying for you" all work well. Sign with your family's names, or for a group card, write the name of the group and have each person sign below it.

Questions

Asked most often.

When is Pastor Appreciation Day?

Many churches in the United States mark October as Pastor Appreciation Month, and Pastor Appreciation Day (also called Clergy Appreciation Day) on the second Sunday in October. In 2026 that is Sunday, October 11.

Which of your cards work for a pastor?

Our two Christian cross sets. The Christian Cross Thank You Cards show a cross filled with small blue flowers with Thank You in script. The Christian Cross Greeting Cards show the same cross with nothing else on the front. Neither has a verse printed on it, so you can write one yourself.

Should our church send one card or many?

Both work. A class, committee or small group can sign one card together, and families can send their own notes. A set of 12 gives a group enough cards for the pastor, associate pastors and staff.

Are the cards blank inside, and where can I buy them?

Yes, every card is blank inside and comes with an envelope. Our card sets are sold on Amazon, and each set on this page links to its Amazon listing, where you can see the current price and delivery date.
